

The Burmese American Resource Network (BARN) is a nonprofit organization in Frederick, Maryland dedicated to empowering and supporting the Burmese American community through culturally responsive programs and services. As a first and historic step in our mission to uplift and give voice to our community, BARN proudly secured a landmark recognition the City of Frederick, Maryland officially signed and designated April 10, 2026 as Burmese American Day, a momentous milestone that marks not just a celebration, but a legacy for many generations to come. This is only the beginning, and B.A.R.N. is committed to doing even more to ensure that the Burmese American community in Maryland is seen, heard, and celebrated in the city we call home.
